⚠️ Important 🛠️ Essential Device Settings for Drivers
To use the SUMAMI platform and provide prices on deliveries, your phone must be set up correctly. The app relies on three core features to help you navigate and get paid:
GPS / Location Settings (ON): This allows you to accurately view delivery distances, price your deliveries competitively, and navigate directly to shops and customers using Google Plus Codes.
Camera (ON) & QR Code Scanner: Every delivery safely starts and ends by scanning a unique QR code. Your camera must be active for the app to complete these transitions.
📸 Camera Troubleshooting Guide
If the app tells you your camera is unavailable or blocked, it is usually a quick browser setting fix. Follow these steps to get back online:
1. Fix Blocked Site Permissions (Most Common)
If you accidentally tapped "Block" when opening the app, Chrome will not ask you for permission again. You must unblock it manually:
Open the Sumami app/site in Chrome.
Look at the address bar at the top and tap the Lock đź”’ or Tune (slider) icon right next to the website link.
Tap Permissions→ Camera→ change it to Allow.
Alternatively, you can do this through the menu:
Tap the three dots (â‹®) menuin the top right corner of Chrome.
Go to Settings→ Site settings.
Find the exact Sumami address you are using (e.g., driver.sumami.delivery) from the list.
Tap Camera and select Allow.
2. Grant Android System Permissions to Chrome
Sometimes your phone's main operating system blocks Chrome from using the camera altogether:
Open your phone’s main Settings app.
Go to Apps (or Apps & Notifications).
Find and tap on Chrome.
Tap Permissions→ Camera→ change to Allow (or Allow only while using the app).
3. Check the Exact Website Address (URL) & App Source
Check the URL: Camera permissions are locked to the exact web address you are viewing. Look at the address bar at the very top of your screen and ensure you are using the official URL: driver.sumami.delivery.
Avoid Link Wrappers: If you opened the app link directly from inside WhatsApp or Messenger, it might open in an "in-app browser" window that breaks camera permissions. Always close that window, open the actual Chrome app, and type the URL directly into the address bar.
🔍 The Quick Camera Test
If you are still having issues, perform this quick test in the same Chrome tab to find out why it is failing:
Select the "Scan an Image File"option in the app instead of the live camera, and upload a photo of a shop QR code from your gallery.
If it works: Your phone can read codes, but your live camera is blocked. Follow the permission fixes in Steps 1 and 2 above.
If it fails too: There is a broader restriction on your device. This could be due to an Android "Work Profile," parental controls, or an enterprise security setting blocking camera access for Chrome entirely.

Most delayed or rejected applications are caused by blurry, dark, or cut-off pictures. Because our team uses these photos to keep the platform safe, getting your photos right on the first try means your account gets approved faster!

đź’ˇ Quick Tips for Everyone
🟢 The Right Way: Take your photos during the day. Tap your phone screen to force the camera lens to focus before snapping. If you can't easily read the text on your screen, our verification team won't be able to either!
đź”´ Avoid the Flash Glare: Using a heavy camera flash indoors often creates a bright white reflection on laminated ID cards or glossy documents, making them unreadable. Turn on a room light or step near a window instead.
Whether you are a Shop Partner setting your location or a Customer giving directions, follow these steps using Google Maps or Plus Code map (https://plus.codes/map):
To Find a Specific Location’s Code:
Open Google Maps/Plus Code map on your phone.
Find the exact spot on the map.
Touch and hold the screen to drop a pin 📍 at that location.
Tap the panel that appears at the bottom of the screen.
In Google Maps, look for the Plus Code symbol: and tap the code to copy it automatically.
To Find Your Current Location’s Code:
Tap the blue dot on the map that shows where you are currently standing.
Swipe upon the "Your location" panel that appears at the bottom.
In Google Maps, locate the Plus Code section and tap Copy code.
🔍 How to Use a Plus Code in SUMAMI
Once you have copied the code from Google Maps/Plus Code map, simply paste it into the SUMAMI app in the delivery address or shop location field.
If you are in the same town: You can use the short 6- or 7-digit code (e.g., JJXX+HR8).
If you are searching from a different area: Ensure the town or city name is included (e.g., JJXX+HR8, Somanya).
Offline Tip: If you are offline, you may see a longer "global" code (e.g., 9C5M8QQ7+V8). This works perfectly for SUMAMI too!
🏠Set Your Home Address (Select Areas)
If you want to save your address permanently for future orders:
In Google Maps, tap You.
Under "Give your home a precise address", tap Get started.
Follow the prompts to Find address and tap Save.
Pro-Tip: Using a Plus Code is the best way to help your SUMAMI Driver find you within 5–10 minutes without needing to call for directions!
